Quick Navigation

What SEO fields does this plugin edit?

SEO Batch Edit Hero allows you to batch edit the following SEO fields:

  • SEO Title
  • Focus Keyphrase
  • Meta Description

These fields are saved directly using WordPress-approved methods and are reflected
immediately in supported SEO plugins such as Yoast.

Which post types are supported?

The free version of SEO Batch Edit Hero supports batch editing for:

  • Posts
  • Pages
  • WooCommerce Products

Each content type has its own dedicated batch editor page to reduce risk
and prevent accidental cross-content changes.

How does ALT IMG batch editing work?

The ALT IMG section allows you to batch edit ALT text for Featured Images only.

You can:

  • Copy the post or product title into the Featured Image ALT field
  • Apply changes to all listed items or only selected items

This tool is designed for fast accessibility and SEO cleanup without editing
the entire Media Library.

Does this edit all Media Library images?

No.

The ALT IMG tool only fetches images that are actively assigned as a
Featured Image on Posts, Pages, or WooCommerce Products.

It does not scan or modify every uploaded image in the Media Library.

Full Media Library and WooCommerce gallery image support is planned as a
Premium add-on.

What is the difference between Batch ALL and Batch Selected?

Batch ALL applies the entered value to every item currently displayed
on the page.

Batch Selected applies the entered value only to the rows you manually select
using checkboxes.

This allows you to safely control large updates without affecting unintended items.

Using dynamic variables

The simplicity of dynamic variables can be used in SEO text fields, depending on the SEO plugin you are using (such as Yoast SEO).

Dynamic variables allow you to automatically insert contextual data into your SEO fields, which is especially useful when batch editing large numbers of posts or products.

Common examples of dynamic variables include:

  • %%title%% – Inserts the post, page, or product title

  • %%sitename%% – Inserts your website name

  • %%excerpt%% – Inserts the post excerpt

  • %%category%% – Inserts the primary category

These variables are processed by your SEO plugin and replaced with real values on the front end.

Example use case:

You could enter the following into the SEO Title batch field:

%%title%% | Custom Printing Services

This would automatically generate unique SEO titles such as:

  • Business Cards | Custom Printing Services

  • Vinyl Banners | Custom Printing Services

without manually editing each item.

Dynamic variables are ideal when you want to:

  • Standardize SEO across many items

  • Automatically include titles or categories

  • Save time on large content libraries

Dynamic variables are not supported for ALT IMG fields.
ALT text should always be plain, descriptive text to meet accessibility standards.

How ALT IMG handles titles

While dynamic variables are not supported for ALT IMG fields, the ALT IMG tool includes a built-in shortcut that achieves a similar result.

When using the “Copy Title” batch actions, the plugin automatically pulls the Post, Page, or Product title and applies it directly to the Featured Image ALT text.

This happens at the time of saving and does not rely on dynamic variables.

Example:

If a product is titled:

Custom Vinyl Banner 4×8

Using Copy Title to ALT Text will set the Featured Image ALT text to:

Custom Vinyl Banner 4×8

This ensures every featured image has relevant, descriptive ALT text without manually typing it for each item.

This approach is intentional and provides:

  • Clean, readable ALT text

  • Accessibility-friendly descriptions

  • No dependency on variable parsing

If additional customization is needed, you can manually edit individual ALT text fields after using Copy Title as a starting point.

Example of good ALT text:

  • “Framed canvas print of a family photo”

  • “Vinyl banner displaying custom business logo”

ALT text should describe what is visible in the image, not rely on variables or templates.
